I start all my projects with meaningful user centered research. I visit people. I listen. I document. Through user journeys I outline context, how users think, and what they expect at each stage in a process. I involve as many people as possible from the start; engineers and key stakeholders are a must.
Only once an entire sequence is outlined, will I begin to work on the interface. Iterations of sketches and wireframes will follow, tested and shopped with users at each stage. After the core of a solution is proven to be sound, I focus on the visual polish.
Utilizing design languages, I always look for ways to include signature moments and brand identity with microinteractions and animation. This is the essence of what makes a product recognizable, consistent, and a joy to use.
As the son of a professional artist, I grew up surrounded by creativity. In my teens, I began to study mechanical engineering. In my twenties, I became interested in all things digital. I've always had a passion for learning, creating, and problem solving. Having worked over a decade applying my design skills professionally, my goal is simple... help people by making things easier.
